Cookie policy
This page explains how Markdown For All may use cookies, browser storage, and similar technologies when you visit the site.
What cookies are
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. Websites use them to remember information, keep a service working, measure performance, protect against abuse, or support advertising. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, pixels, and tags.
Markdown For All is designed as a public converter and content site. You do not need an account to read guides or use the basic conversion workflow.
Types of cookies we may use
| Category | Purpose | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | Keep the site available, secure, and able to process normal requests. | Security checks, load balancing, basic session handling. |
| Preferences | Remember choices that make the site easier to use. | Interface settings, dismissed notices, local display preferences. |
| Analytics | Understand which pages are useful, where errors happen, and how the site performs. | Page views, device type, browser type, performance events. |
| Advertising | Support ad delivery, frequency controls, measurement, and abuse prevention if ads are enabled. | Ad impressions, ad measurement signals, anti-fraud checks. |
File conversion and cookies
Cookies are not required to read the text inside your uploaded files. File conversion is handled by the API workflow described in the privacy policy. Uploaded files are used to produce the Markdown response and are deleted after the response is returned.
Operational systems may still record technical information such as request time, file size, status code, and error type. Those records are used for reliability and abuse prevention, not for reading document contents.
Third-party cookies
If Markdown For All uses analytics, advertising, security, or hosting providers, those providers may set or read cookies according to their own policies. These tools may process technical data such as your IP address, browser, device, page URL, and interaction signals.
Advertising cookies should not be used to make the converter confusing. Ads should remain separate from upload controls, copy buttons, download buttons, and editorial content.
How to control cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Most browsers let you remove cookies for one site, block third-party cookies, or clear all stored site data. Browser extensions and privacy tools may also limit cookies, pixels, and analytics scripts.
Blocking some cookies may affect preferences, analytics, advertising, or security checks. It should not prevent you from reading public pages. If a cookie setting breaks the converter, try clearing site data and reloading the page.
Changes to this policy
This policy may change when the site adds, removes, or changes analytics, advertising, hosting, security, or preference features. The current version will be posted on this page.
