Privacy policy
This page explains how Markdown For All handles uploaded files, converted Markdown, operational logs, contact messages, cookies, and advertising-related data.
Scope of this policy
This policy applies to the Markdown For All website and file conversion workflow. It is written to help you decide whether a file is appropriate to convert through this service. If you use a self-hosted copy of the project, your own hosting environment, logs, access controls, and retention settings may differ.
Uploaded files
Uploaded files are sent to the Markdown For All Go API for conversion. The service uses the file only to produce the Markdown response. Files are deleted after the conversion response is returned.
Files are not used to train models, build user profiles, sell data, or create marketing lists. The converter is designed to process the file, return the result, and discard the uploaded copy. Do not upload sensitive files unless this workflow is approved for your use case.
Converted Markdown
Converted Markdown is returned to your browser. File contents and converted Markdown are not intentionally logged. You should still treat the Markdown output with the same care as the original file because it may contain names, account numbers, internal links, or other sensitive text from the source document.
If you copy, download, publish, index, or share the converted Markdown, that later use is your responsibility. Review the output before sending it to a documentation platform, content system, AI tool, or public website.
Operational logs
The service may keep limited operational logs needed to run and protect the site, such as request time, status code, file size, and error type. These logs are used for reliability and abuse prevention, not for reading document contents.
Logs may help investigate failed conversions, high error rates, abuse, denial-of-service attempts, and other reliability issues. They are not intended to contain uploaded file text or converted Markdown.
Cookies and local browser storage
The converter can run without requiring an account. The site may use basic browser storage or cookies for ordinary website operation, security, analytics, or advertising if those features are added. If analytics or advertising tools are used, they should be configured to follow applicable privacy and consent requirements.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking cookies may affect some website features, but it should not change the basic ability to read public content pages.
Advertising and third-party services
Markdown For All may display advertising or use third-party services for analytics, performance, security, or abuse prevention. These providers may process technical information such as IP address, browser type, device information, page URL, and interaction signals according to their own policies.
Advertising should never require users to click ads, mislead users about navigation, or interfere with file conversion. If ads are added, they should be separated from tool controls and content so users can clearly distinguish advertising from the converter and editorial material.
Sensitive documents
Do not upload confidential contracts, private customer records, medical information, financial statements, credentials, or regulated data unless you control the deployment environment and your organization has approved that workflow.
Examples of files that usually need extra caution include tax forms, bank statements, government IDs, employee records, legal agreements, unreleased business plans, private source code, and documents covered by client confidentiality rules.
Contact information
If you contact us, we use your email address and message to respond to your request. Send privacy questions to support@mdforall.com.
Contact messages may be retained long enough to answer the request, investigate the issue, and maintain a basic record of support or abuse reports. Do not include sensitive document text in a support message unless we have agreed on a safe review method.
Children's privacy
Markdown For All is not designed for children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the site, contact us so we can review and delete it when appropriate.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when the site, file handling, analytics, advertising, or support process changes. The updated version will be posted on this page. Continued use of the site after an update means the new policy applies to later use.
