Privacy policy

Effective date: June 15, 2026. This policy explains how Markdown For All handles uploaded files, converted Markdown, logs, contact messages, cookies, analytics, and advertising-related data.

Who operates this site

Markdown For All is maintained as an independent online utility for converting common file formats into Markdown. Privacy, security, and data handling questions can be sent to support@mdforall.com.

Uploaded files and converted Markdown

When you upload a file, it is sent to the Markdown For All conversion API to produce the Markdown response. Uploaded files are deleted after the conversion response is returned. Converted Markdown is returned to your browser and is not intentionally stored as a document library.

Uploaded files and converted Markdown are not used to train AI models, build advertising profiles, sell user data, or create marketing lists. Do not upload sensitive files unless this processing workflow is approved for your use case.

Upload and conversion lifecycle

DataWhy it is processedNormal handling
Uploaded fileRead the source format and generate Markdown.Written to temporary storage for the request and deleted after the response is returned.
Generated MarkdownReturn the conversion result to the browser.Returned in the API response and not intentionally stored as a document library.
Technical request metadataOperate the service, investigate failures, rate-limit abuse, and protect availability.May appear in server, proxy, CDN, firewall, or hosting logs according to production configuration.

Avoid uploading sensitive material by redacting it, creating a synthetic test file, or using an approved private workflow. No public internet service can guarantee absolute confidentiality or availability.

Operational logs

To operate the service, protect it from abuse, and diagnose failures, technical systems may record request time, IP address, user agent, page URL, status code, file size, file extension, processing duration, and error type. These logs are not intended to contain uploaded file contents or the generated Markdown body.

Original file names may contain private information. We recommend avoiding unnecessary file-name logging in production systems and using sanitized examples when reporting bugs. Hosting providers, CDN, firewall, or server software may keep their own technical logs according to their configuration.

Third-party services

Markdown For All may use Google Analytics to understand aggregate site usage and Google AdSense to support advertising. These services may process technical information such as IP address, device and browser data, page URL, cookie identifiers, ad impressions, and interaction signals according to Google's own policies.

Ads and analytics do not change conversion output. Ads should remain separate from upload controls, copy controls, download controls, and conversion results.

Cookies and browser storage

The site may use necessary cookies or browser storage for basic operation, security, and preferences. If analytics or advertising is enabled, Google or other providers may use cookies or similar technologies for measurement, ad delivery, frequency controls, and abuse prevention. See the Cookie Policy for more detail.

Sensitive documents

Do not upload contracts, financial statements, medical records, customer exports, credentials, private source code, HR files, or regulated documents unless your organization has approved this workflow. For high-risk files, use a controlled environment, redacted sample, or self-hosted/private conversion process.

Your choices and requests

You can control many cookies through your browser settings and Google advertising preferences. You may send privacy questions, deletion requests for support emails, or concerns about logged technical data to support@mdforall.com. Include enough context for us to locate the request without sending sensitive document contents.

Children and international users

Markdown For All is not directed to children. If you use the site from outside the country where it is hosted, your technical data may be processed in other jurisdictions by hosting, analytics, advertising, or security providers.
